Join a Cleanup

Antler River Rally and partners host regular cleanup events that are open to the public.

Antler River Rally posts information about upcoming cleanup events on our Facebook page and other social media.

Cleanups are paused over the winter. Other cleanups are hosted in the spring each year by Thames River Cleanup and by the Green and Clean program of the City of London.

What to bring to a cleanup

In general, all the supplies you need to participate will be provided. Bringing a pair of reusable gloves from home helps reduce waste.

We recommend wearing weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy boots or hiking shoes. During cleanups you may encounter Stinging Nettle and Poison Ivy, so wearing long pants and a long sleeve shirt or a jacket is a good idea. We also suggest you bring a bottle of drinking water, and wear bug spray and sunscreen during warmer weather.

How do I volunteer?

Simply show up on the day of our cleanup. The times and locations are shared on this page and on Antler River Rally's social media.

It is not necessary to register or to give notice that you will be attending. However, we appreciate being informed if you plan to bring a large group. Please contact us to let us know.

If you sign up for our mailing list (see the bottom of this page) we will notify you of upcoming clean-ups.

Are children welcome?

Yes! Some of our most faithful volunteers are kids. However, because we are often working near fast flowing water and sometimes cleaning up broken glass, hypodermic needles and related items, younger children need constant supervision. At every cleanup site we will indicate areas better suited to families with children.
